Beautiful pics! The purple flower is passion flower. It grows on a vine and will make fruit. The leaves can be used for tea if you have trouble falling asleep. I am hoping to start HOD soon with my son.

Looks like you have a great start to your school year. HOD is a wonderful curriculum. Love how you can pick and choose what fits for your family out of it. I would like to recommend Spellingcity.com for a way to had fun to your spelling list. You can just type in the list and they create games for your child to play based on that list. Sometimes you can find your list already in the many list

I didn't post more about this book because we ended up just doing a lot of writing prompts with it. It ended up being more fun to discuss things like, "What would you do with one mitten?" "What would you color your mitten?" etc...than a bunch of activities and separate lessons.

This ended up being a 2nd place winner in his third grade class. The 1st place winner was also a robot, but it was made out of welded (yes, welded) pipes. That school is serious about their valentine's boxes.

Super cute! I had no idea that ladybugs hibernated. My husband worked in the South Pole for a while and we gained some interesting information about Antartica. Did you know that there are no polar bears in the South Pole? They only live in the North Pole:0)
